Affiliate disclosure
Leave Hacker is free. Some of our links to travel sites are affiliate links: if you book through one, the travel site may pay us a commission. You pay the same price.
Which links
In the web app, the Android app and the iPhone app, the links out to flights, stays, things to do, package holidays and UK breaks go through leavehacker.app/go. It adds our affiliate code and sends you straight on to the travel site. The flight links our MCP server gives AI assistants work the same way.
Our trip pages (leavehacker.app/trips) link to travel partners, and every such link is marked "Ad". Our guides, bank holiday pages and school holiday pages don't contain affiliate links.
Who pays us
These partners, and the networks that run their programmes, may pay us a commission when you book:
- Aviasales, through Travelpayouts: flights, and the fares we show you.
- Expedia, through Expedia Group's programme on Partnerize: hotels, things to do and package holidays, for trips from the UK, the US and Australia.
- Booking.com: hotels, for trips from Ireland.
- Awin brands: package holidays on Icelolly and TravelSupermarket, and UK breaks on Sykes Cottages, Hoseasons and Superbreak.
Some of these programmes are still reviewing our application. Until a partner approves us, its link works the same but doesn't earn anything.
We also link to Skyscanner (flights to anywhere), and from Ireland to GetYourGuide (things to do) and lastminute.com (package holidays). Those links don't earn us anything at the moment.
What commission doesn't change
- Your price. The travel site pays the commission. You pay the same as if you'd gone to the site yourself.
- The days we suggest. Your plan is worked out from your leave, your working days and the public holidays before any trip is shown. Nothing about trips or partners goes into it.
- The fares we show. Fares come from Travelpayouts' API, not from copying travel sites. Fares that fit your dates come first, cheapest first. A price for other dates in the month is marked "from". If we can't get live fares we show example prices, and say so.
How links are marked
In the apps, every link that goes through leavehacker.app/go has a small "Ad" tag, whether or not it earns today, and screen readers read it out as part of the link. Under the trips there's a line that says we may earn a commission, with a link to this page. Our MCP server tells AI assistants that its flight links are affiliate links.
Your privacy
A link through leavehacker.app/go carries only airport codes, a city name, dates and a short label for the screen it came from (such as "break-10"). We don't log it. If you book, the travel site and its affiliate network see the booking under their own privacy policies. See our privacy policy.
