Terms of service
The rules for using Leave Hacker, in plain English. Last updated 5 November 2026.
Who we are
Leave Hacker is run by Bednal Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12582198), whose registered office is Unit 4 Clifford Court, Cooper Way, Carlisle CA3 0JG. "We" and "us" mean Bednal Limited. You can reach us at hello@leavehacker.app.
What these terms cover
These terms apply when you use leavehacker.app, the web app at leavehacker.app/app, the Leave Hacker apps for iPhone and Android, our emails and our MCP server for AI assistants (together, "Leave Hacker"). By using Leave Hacker you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your information, and our affiliate disclosure explains how we earn money.
If you downloaded an app from the App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply to the download. For the iPhone app, Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement applies alongside these terms, and Apple has no responsibility for the app or its support.
What Leave Hacker is
Leave Hacker is free. It suggests which days of annual leave to book around bank holidays and weekends, plans a leave year, and shows trips that fit each break. You don't need an account to plan.
Plans are suggestions, not advice
- A plan is a suggestion worked out from what you tell us. Whether you can take those days is up to your employer and your contract, so check with them before you book anything.
- Bank holidays come from gov.uk and other governments' published lists, and school term dates from each council's own website. Dates can change and mistakes can happen, so check important dates with the source, which we link to.
- Our guides give general information about the law, with links to the official sources. They aren't legal advice about your situation. For that, talk to Acas, Citizens Advice or a solicitor.
Trips, prices and partners
- We're not a travel agent and we don't sell travel. When you follow a link marked "Ad" to a partner such as an airline search, a hotel site or a tour company, any booking is between you and that partner, on their terms and at their price.
- Fares we show come from our partners' recent searches and can change or sell out at any time. Example prices are always labelled as examples. Always check the price on the partner's site before you book.
- A partner may pay us a commission if you book. That never changes your price or the days we suggest.
Accounts
- Accounts are optional. You can sign in to plan with a partner or a group, to keep your devices in step and to manage emails.
- Keep access to your email, Apple or Google sign-in secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in You › Account in the app or web app, which deletes the information linked to it as our privacy policy describes.
Planning with a partner or a group
- Only invite people you know. What you share is your choice: the apps share which days you're free, worked out on your device, never your calendar events.
- Group names and anything else you add must be lawful and not abusive. A group's owner can remove members, and we may remove content or groups that break these terms.
Emails
We only send marketing emails, such as plan reminders, bank holiday hacks or trips for your next break, if you've asked for them. Every one has a link to stop them, and you can stop each kind separately.
Using Leave Hacker fairly
Please don't:
- use Leave Hacker for anything unlawful, or to harm or harass anyone;
- try to get into accounts or systems that aren't yours, or interfere with how Leave Hacker works, including by overloading it;
- copy or scrape the site or its data in bulk, or get round the rate limits on our MCP server and other endpoints;
- pretend to be someone else, or use our name or logo to suggest we endorse you.
Our MCP server is free for personal use through an AI assistant. If you'd like to use our data in your own product, email partners@leavehacker.app first.
Our content
Leave Hacker's design, text and code belong to Bednal Limited. You're welcome to share your plan, a share card or a link to any page. UK bank holiday dates are public sector information from gov.uk under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Changes and availability
We keep improving Leave Hacker, so features can change. We may pause or stop parts of it, for example for maintenance or if a partner withdraws. If we ever close accounts for good, we'll email account holders first and give you time to export your information.
Our responsibility to you
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Your legal rights as a consumer aren't affected.
- We're not responsible for decisions your employer makes about your leave, for bookings you make with partners, or for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen.
- Leave Hacker is for personal use. We're not liable for any business losses, such as lost profit or business interruption.
Ending things
You can stop using Leave Hacker whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or a security risk stops us.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters, we'll also email account holders before it takes effect.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections your own country's consumer law gives you.
